Details: Bachelor Project

My bachelor project began with the question: Who am I as a designer, both in the graphic and digital studio? What convinced me to follow two additional years of digital design after my graphic design course, and what interests led to that choice? For years, I have had a passion for design, with a particular emphasis on typography and print. I was able to fully immerse myself in my previous graphic design projects. Although I also enjoyed digital works, but there was something different about it. I truly realised the value of print, after I joined the digital studio. Especially working for weeks, not having a physical result was a logical but still strange feeling.

This led to my initial idea: what techniques exist to create movement or animation within the physical and static medium of print? What possibilities are there to achieve this, and how far can it be pushed? I quickly came in contact with optical illusions and print techniques, so I decided to pursue this further. My next step was to ask myself: What technique can I use to combine my passion for print with animation? I chose to continue my experiments with moiré effects and the grid-techniques used in kinegrams.
